What wellness means to me ...

Wellness to me is the integration of mind, body, spirit and emotions being that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. We strive to be whole and when we are operating on all of
these levels we are experiencing the essence of truly being who we are, being whole. Wellness is a way of life throughout our lives.

Why I am passionate about what I do ...

I am passionate about giving to others, providing guidance to those who need it to live fuller, richer and healthier lives. I am passionate about volunteering in many of the programs
that the Aspen Valley has to offer. It feels so good to be a part of the experience. I am passionate about walking the walk and continuing to grow and learn. To see someone's life transform
for the greater good gives me a feeling of such inner peace that even a small contribution can lead to wholeness.

What wellness means to me ...

A cultivated awareness of balanced functioning in mind, body and spirit, specific to the individual's tradition and environment.

Why I am passionate about what I do ...

I am passionate about facilitating self-awareness and hold the firm belief that everything we need to live a full life is inside of us just waiting to be discovered.
I am inspired by open curiosity: about oneself, the world, the known and the unknown. Cultivating wide-eyed curiosity about this life and how it functions in, through and around us is, in my experience, the key to a life well lived. Facilitating this journey of discovery for others, even as I continue on my own, enriches my life, their lives and the world around us. This is my passion.

What wellness means to me ...

I would start defining "WELLNESS" by the inclusion of the word "WE". It is not something that I am the sole expert on but instead a mutual goal between me and my clients. In order to achieve wellness, I combine the science of exercise and nutrition therapy with the art of finding each individuals place of optimal health. It is holistic in nature as the only way to prevent disease is to address any areas of "dis" - "ease". Treating this state of "dis" - "ease" which can have symptoms such as poor energy levels, excess body weight, elevated blood sugar, food intolerance, digestive problems, headaches and mild depression is often better done with diet and exercise than any pharmaceutical drug. It often does not need to be treated in a doctor's office or require expensive testing. Achieving Wellness requires the belief that the body wants to be at ease and it's a matter of finding the right supportive therapies to do so.

Why I am passionate about what I do ...

I have a Bachelor degree in Human Nutrition, a Master of Science in Advanced Metabolism and Exercise Physiology, I’m a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics, and a Diabetes Educator with Board Certification in Advanced Diabetes Management. In short, it has been my career as well as my passion to promote nutrition and exercise as the powerful tools that they are.

Throughout my career I’ve worked in a variety of settings (hospital, college campus, nationally recognized diabetes center, outpatient clinic, physician’s office) and even embraced technology working virtually with clients around the world. I’ve been a speaker at national conferences, held classes for local clubs, instructed continuing education seminars, and staffed training camps. These experiences have allowed me to meet amazing people, be inspired, expand my application of nutrition and more fully realize how uneducated both the general population and healthcare community are in regards to using nutrition/food as a tool for optimal health.

My approach is to work individually with each and every patient/client to help them achieve their goals. My knowledge and counseling specialties include nutrition for the prevention and treatment of disease, sport performance, weight loss, digestion and metabolism, disordered eating, advanced diabetes management, and meal planning for improved energy and health maintenance.

My two favorite food philosophies: Food as Medicine & Food as Fuel (body and soul)
